Savannah, with its ambient Spanish moss and majestic ancient squares, is one of those places that has it all. It’s a lovely place to stroll around, but it’s also packed with activities for individuals of all ages. We felt in affection for the region and could see ourselves living there.

6 Gorgeous Places to Visit in Savannah:

  1. Savannah Children’s Museum

The Savannah Children’s Museum in Tricentennial Park is one of the best things to do in Savannah with kids. It’s outside and features a maze, reading nook, water play, and sensory garden, among other things. I would adore having one of these in Bristol. Otis enjoyed it, and it’s a great place to keep kids aged 2 to 12 entertained. It’s also a popular hangout for adults, especially on sunny days. Check their calendar for all kinds of activities and events, but even a regular-day visit is worthwhile. It’s a fantastic combination with the nearby Georgia State Railroad Museum.

  1. Forsyth Park

Forsyth Park is one of Savannah’s most recognizable attractions, and it has much to keep kids amused. There are also sprinklers to run in on hot summer days to keep cool. It’s a must-see for anybody touring Savannah or in search of Savannah family activities. It was one of the highlights of our journey and a lovely location to chill. The 30-acre park is one of the greatest sites in town to see the city’s moss-covered trees. The fountain, the capital’s most visible tourist attraction, should not be neglected.

  1. Trolley Tour

One of the greatest ways to see Savannah is on a tram tour. We took the Old Town Trolley Tour, although Old Savannah Tours is another choice. Both are enjoyable activities for children, as is the tram itself. The Old Town Trolley features 15 stations and a one or two-day pass that lets you to hop on and off as much as you want.

  1. Savannah’s Candy Kitchen

I adore a good old-fashioned sweet shop, and this one is a definite winner. Savannah’s Candy Kitchen’s name alone explains why this is a classic Savannah attraction. It has the pleasant aroma of produced candies and free samples of the city’s famed praline. There’s also a small train that moves around the ceiling, which is especially popular with young children (Otis adored it!). There are two locations in Savannah, one in the downtown market and one on River Street, each of which are popular tourist attractions.

  1. Byrd’s

As you probably know, I have a sweet tooth, particularly for baked goodies, so this was high on my Savannah to-do list! Byrd’s Cookies, the most known cookies in the South, is a big success with kids (and me!), especially since they offer free tasters. Children enjoy the rainbow cupcake biscuits.  There are many Byrd’s locations across the city, including those on River Street and in City Market. The cookies also make an excellent present; we carried a couple back for Steve’s folks.

  1. National Wildlife Refuge

The Savannah National Wildlife Refuge, located a few miles from downtown, is made up of approximately 30,000 acres of freshwater marshes, tidals, and streams. The 4-mile self-guided Laurel Hill animals Drive takes you past freshwater lakes and hardwood hammocks where you can see animals like gators, bobcats, and birds. Other walks are available, and you may learn more about them in the tourist centre. Because the reception of cell phones is intermittent, make sure you know wherever you’re headed as well as how to get there.
